How to Change Your Snapchat Username

You can't. Snapchat usernames are permanent. Here's what you can do instead.

Snapchat does NOT allow username changes.

Display names can be changed anytime in Settings. Usernames are permanently locked after account creation.

Your Only Option: New Account

Create a new Snapchat account with your desired username. You'll lose friends, chats, memories, and Snapstreaks on your old account. Add your close friends and tell them your new handle.

Want a different handle? Check availability with the Snapchat username checker, or monitor a taken handle across all 40 platforms.
