Social Media Username Monitor — Never Miss When a Handle Becomes Available
A taken username needs more than a one-time check. HandleGrab monitors usernames automatically — repeating checks on your plan's schedule (weekly, daily, or hourly) and emailing you the instant a scan detects availability.
No card required · 7-day trial · Monitor 1 handle, weekly checks
Claim your handle before someone else does
Enter a username and get alerted the moment it becomes available on any platform.

Checker vs Monitor — which do you need?
Use the right tool for your intent. Checker is for a one-time snapshot. Monitor is for waiting on a taken name.
| Feature | Checker | Monitor |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Available now? quick check | Handle is taken — wait for it to drop |
| Runs | Once on demand | Repeatedly on schedule |
| Alerts | Result on page only | Email the moment it becomes available |
| Platforms | 32 at once via username-checker | Any of 32, added to your dashboard |
| Cost | Free one-time check | Starts free trial, then Pro/Premium |
Checker = username-checker (one-time). Monitor = this page + dashboard alerts.
How username monitoring works
Every watch follows the same sequence while signals vary by platform.
Request the public result
For each watch HandleGrab requests the public-facing page or endpoint for that platform. You never share a social password.
Interpret the response
Platform-specific rules normalize the response into Available, Taken, or Inconclusive. An inconclusive reply is never treated as proof a handle is free — we retry on the next cycle.
Send a useful alert
When a scan confirms availability we email you with the platform, handle, and a direct link to verify and claim it yourself.
Scan speed by plan — when minutes matter
Alert freshness is determined by your plan and the platform's practical limits. A result describes the last completed check — not a reservation.

Username Monitoring FAQ
What is a social media username monitor?▼
A username monitor repeatedly checks whether a taken handle has become available and emails you when it detects an opening. Unlike a one-time checker that only tells you the status right now, a monitor runs on a schedule (weekly, daily, or hourly) so you don't have to refresh manually.
How is monitoring different from a username checker?▼
A checker gives a one-time snapshot: available now or taken now. A monitor adds persistence: it re-checks automatically and pushes an email alert when availability flips. Use the checker at /username-checker to see today's status, then add the handle to monitoring if it's taken.
Which platforms can I monitor?▼
All 40 platforms HandleGrab supports: Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Threads, Discord, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit, LinkedIn, GitHub, Telegram, Medium, Behance, Dribbble, Spotify, SoundCloud, Kick, Domain, Minecraft, Roblox, Steam, Bluesky, Tumblr, Vimeo, Patreon, Substack, DeviantArt, Wattpad, and Mastodon — plus 6 Chinese platforms (Weibo, Zhihu, Bilibili, Douyin, Kuaishou, Xiaohongshu) rolling out.
How fast are monitoring alerts?▼
Alert speed equals your check frequency: Trial checks weekly, Pro daily, Premium hourly. When a scan confirms availability we email immediately with a direct link to claim the handle on the platform — you still need to act fast on the platform itself.
What does "Inconclusive" mean?▼
If a platform returns a timeout, rate limit, maintenance page, or an ambiguous response, we mark the scan as Inconclusive rather than guessing "available." We retry on the next cycle. An inconclusive result never triggers an alert.
Do you guarantee I can claim an alerted handle?▼
No. We do not reserve or claim handles on your behalf. An alert means our last scan matched the platform's availability signals — always verify on the platform and claim quickly. Platform rules still govern who can claim what.
